Private services and costs
Medical certificates are a private services and therefore have to be completed in a GPs own time, usually outside of their paid NHS working hours. We set our fees with reference to the British Medical Association guidance on private fees.
"When your doctor signs a certificate or completes a report, it is a condition of remaining on the Medical Register that they only sign what they know to be true. In order to complete even the simplest of forms, they may have to check your entire medical record (some of which may not be accessible on a computer or on site). Carelessness or an inaccurate report can have serious consequences for the doctor with the General Medical Council (the doctors' regulatory body) or even the Police."
The following services are available at the practice and may be chargeable. Where a fee is applicable it must be paid prior to the examinations or tests being carried out. For administrative services where a fee is required, this mist be paid before completion by a GP. You will be contacted with details of how to make payment.
- Medicals
- Private consultations
- Tests
- Insurance certificates
- Medical reports
- Fit to exercise form
- Access to medical records

We do not complete forms that ask for us to confirm a person is fit to complete an activity e.g. sky diving, SCUBA diving, holiday camps, expeditions or marathons. You can access specialist advice regarding these activities/forms from expert clinics (often accessible quickly online).

We are happy to support all SARs requests.
If you wish to access your medical records, we can provide you with online access to do this. You do this by attending your local surgery and making the reception team aware you would like full online access.
If you would like us to print a summary sheet on your medical problems or letters from hospital clinics. Many of these are available to see on your NHS App.
