Prescription and medication queries

If you live more than one mile from the nearest pharmacy, we can dispense your medicines so you don’t need to go to a pharmacy. Medication can be collected from any of the surgeries within the practice. Please allow three full working days for the prescription to be ready.

If you live within a mile of a pharmacy we are unable to dispense your medication. This is a condition of our regulation and one over which we have no control. We will issue your prescription but it is then your responsibility to arrange the supply of your medication with your pharmacy.

When you are issued with medication from the dispensary, you will receive a patient information leaflet about each of the drugs you have received. Please read the leaflet carefully. Each package or container will be labelled with dosage instructions from the doctor. If you do not understand the instructions or you require further information, please discuss with the dispenser.

Our doctors periodically review repeat medications, and may request that you attend an appointment to ensure that all prescribing is safely monitored.
